Pattaya 2 Hunt

Ubolratana Dam is about a one and a half hour drive from Khon Kaen, Thailand. Went there on Friday, 16 April, with my wife and some of her family to spend some time at the “beach”, eat and drink, relax, and metal detect.
I had some BBQ chicken and sticky rice and headed out into the water. Received lots of stares and people asking “Ha arai?” – “What are you looking for?”
I told them I was in search of gold and silver. Most smiled and some laughed and thought I was crazy.
Despite all the onlookers, I hunted for about an hour and only found coins – a total of 31 baht.
I only hunted for about one hour as my batteries died on me. It was tough digging as the water was cloudy from the many kids playing and the soil is thick clay. But, I was happy to get out and metal detect.
I also found this belt buckle on the ground from Khon Kaen Technical School.
