Out in the Country

The North Shore of Oahu is fondly called “The Country” and I headed out there this morning. It was a little nippy for Hawaii when I left about 30 minutes before sunset. I actually had the heater on with the window cracked as I drove north.
I got to the beach about 0730 and there were already about 10 surfers there. Some were in the water already and others were surveying the ocean.
The dry sand was at a pretty decent slope but the wet sand was flatter. So, I walked from the top of the beach all the way down to the water. Water was too rocky to go in.
Right off the bat I found a car key and a couple of coins and thought this was going to be a good day. However, I only found a couple more coins, a buckle, a piece of metal and a big washer.
Despite the small finds, I still had a really nice 2 1/2 hours at the beach.
