Went metal detecting with my buddy, Tony, on Pattaya Beach today. Tony met me at Maggie May’s Guesthouse at 0500 and I hopped on his motorcycle and off we went. I felt like a knight at a joust with my detector in one hand and my sand scoop in the other. Hanging on to nothing and only straddling the seat with my knees, we drove the 20 minutes to Pattaya North. The to Pattaya was easy with very little early morning traffic. The ride back was a little more harrowing with mid-day traffic.
The tide was not favorable, so we only hunted in the dry sand and worked our way down to Central Pattaya – around Soi 7. We had breakfast at a little hole in the wall and hunted for about 7 hours.
