Charger Woes Part II

Well, I got the charger that goes from 110-240 but it is not working. I had my buddy call the company and they said that if the batteries are completely drained then the charger won’t recognize that there is a battery connected to it. How stupid is that?
The company recommended I find another charger, like for a cell phone, and use alligator clips to connect to the battery and give it some juice for about one hour and then use their charger. They said it should recognize it then.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t mess with electricity – especially Thailand’s 220 volts.
So, I decided to get another 110 charger from Minelab (that my buddy found in Hawaii and shipped to me) and I will use this with my 110-220 step up/down converter and see if I can get it charged for an hour and then go to the 220 charger and see if it does indeed recognize the battery.
if all goes well, I will have my batteries charged and be able to use my Excal again. What a pain.
